Should I have to join a package tour for Lhasa to get the ticket?

Travellers used to before, but now it is not necessary. (Only )in Lhasa you are completely free. You can go and stay anywhere you like, and you can stay for as long as your Chinese visa allows you to stay.

Should I arrange the air ticket before we get to Chengdu? How many days does it take to arrange the ticket to Lhasa?

If you want to fly the day after your arrival, then it is better to reserve a ticket before you come to Chengdu. It normally takes about 1-2 working days to arrange the ticket to Lhasa, but it depends on a situation.

We are coming to Chengdu during the period of Mayday holiday 1-7 May ( or Chinese national holiday 1-7 Oct). Should I arrange the air ticket before we arrive to Chengdu?

It is better to reserve a ticket before you come to Chengdu as earlier as you can. It will be very crowded at that time.

How far in advance would I need to confirm my trip with you? Would I need to confirm with you one or two weeks before, or what is the timeline like? How long does it take to get the Tibet permit? Does the flight to Lhasa fill up quickly, and if so, would I need to confirm with you early?

How easy it is to get the ticket to Lhasa depends on how many seats of the flight are left. It is sometimes even possible to get the flight for the next 2nd day if you are arriving at our guestouse not too late. So, during low season, one week in advance is enough to arrange the air tickets to Lhasa in advance.

Are there airlines runing from Lhasa to other city?

Can you issue Tibet Entry Permit? How does it work?

We organize the Tibet Entry Permit. The Tibet Entry Permit allows you to travel inside Lhasa, and you can stay in Lhasa as long as your Chinese Visa is Valid. When you travel out of Lhasa to places such as ALi, Mount Everest, Mount Kailash etc, you will need arrange other Travel Permits / Documents with a travel agancy .The Policy regarding foreigners traveling around in Tibet can change regularly, so please check in Lhasa for up to date information on travel permits etc.

Can I travel all part of Tibet with Tibet Entry Permit or do I have to get other permit?

When you travel out of Lhasa, currently such as A'Li, you need get another Permit (Travel Permit) or more Documents.

How can I apply for Travel Permit?

The Policy for the necessary Document when you travel out of Lhasa may changes. So, you'd better check the updated information in Lhasa and get the necessary Document in Tibet.

Can you explain to me how the permit to Tibet works?

You will not get any kind of paper or stamp that proves you have already applied for it. But you do not have to worry about the PSB wanting you to show the permit in Lhasa. When travel agencies get the air ticket to Lhasa for foreigners, they have to apply for the permit first, once they get the permit from the travel department of Tibet, they can get the air ticket from the Airline Company. This means that when you get the air ticket to Lhasa, you are already allowed to fly to Lhasa. In Lhasa you are completely free, you can go and stay anywhere you want, and you can stay as long as your Chinese visa will allow you to stay. But if you are going to some other towns, you are supposed to apply for another permit in Lhasa.

I am from Hongkong, do I need permit to visit Tibet?

HongKong residence who has Chinese ID Card do not need Tibet Emtry Permit.

Can I extend visa in Lhasa?

Please be aware that it is very hard to extend your visa in Lhasa, so please make sure your visa is valid for the length of time you would like to stay in Tibet.

When you travel out of Lhasa to places such as ALi, Mount Everest, Mount Kailash etc, you will need get other Travel Permits / Documents. It can be arranged in Lhasa.

Can you book train tickets before our arrival?

As for the train ticket you asked me, I would like you to know that it is a risk for us to arrange the ticket without getting any deposit. As long as you can provide us with a deposit, we can arrange tickets before your arrival.

Can you arrange a bus/train ticket before our arrival?

If you are in China, Singapore, Hongkong or Japan, we have bank accounts and we are able to get the deposit from you. As long as we have got the deposit from you in our account, we can buy the bus/train ticket for you in advance. We would like you to pay the whole charge to buy the ticket.
